OPTIK! was established by Licensed Optician Anja Jakupovic and her husband Edin in 2017. Located in the heart of St. Petersburg's Beach Drive, the boutique offers only fine, handcrafted independent eyewear from European designers. Each frame is hand selected by Anja and her husband, during International Optical Trade Shows or in house while visiting with the designers themselves.

Meet Anja & Edin

Anja Jakupovic is passionate about high quality Eyewear and ensuring excellent customer service.In 2007, she became a Board Certified Licensed Optician in Florida. She loves to introduce people to the latest trends by allowing them to step out of their comfort zone. She has been successfully fitting clients with beautiful Eyewear since 2005. Anja has also practiced Opticianry in Germany, where she worked in a state of the art, high end optical boutique and custom fitted Eyewear using the latest Carl Zeiss technology. Her goal is to make every client feel good about their Eyewear purchase and see clearly in their new digital lenses. A visit to OPTIK! should be a fun one, where you can relax and sip on a cup of coffee, all while your personal Optician selects the perfect Eyewear for your optical and cosmetic needs.

Edin Jakupovic has earned his MBA at USF St. Petersburg. He holds a Business Intelligence Analyst position at St. Petersburg College and loves to assist Anja in new frame selections for their boutique.

Anja and Edin got married in 2015 and love to travel the world. Their favorite trips are to Vision Expos, where they can discover the latest trends in the optical industry and bring back the most unique styles into their boutique.

Meet Neil- Board Certified Licensed Optician

Neil is a Board-Certified Licensed Optician with over 40 years of experience in the optical field. He specializes in advanced needs, such as fitting extremely complex prescriptions. His attention to detail and precision is what he is best known for. Neil joined the Optik family in 2021.

Meet our doctors

Dr. Jennifer Welter

Dr. Welter is a board-certified optometrist in the Tampa/ St. Petersburg area since 2007. She holds a license to practice optometry in the state of Florida and Massachusetts. Dr. Welter received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of South Florida. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and a Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Welter provides comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings to patients eight years old and above. She believes in enhancing the patient experience by engaging with patients and providing quality exams.

Dr. Rachel Stephens

Dr Rachel Stephens is a graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2020. Dr. Stephens specializes in vision correction, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. Her particular interests include contact lenses, corneal disease, and dry eye treatment. Raised in Seminole, FL, Dr. Stephens completed her undergraduate studies at the University of South Florida. She enjoys practicing and living in Pinellas, where she grew up. When not providing eye care or spending time with her family, Dr. Stephens enjoys staying active and creative through yoga, photography, fishing, reading, and Pilates.
